WATER - AND THE BODY

Benefits of water and the body.
The body is made up of 75% water. Muscle holds more water. Your lungs expel between 2 and 4 cups of water each day through normal breathing.
Going to the toilet a dozen trips to the bathroom during the day, that's six cups of water.

Health benefits of water.
Water is crucial to your health. Every system in your body depends on water. Lack of water = dehydration. Mild dehydration as little as 1% to 2% loss of bod weight.
SIGNS OF DEHYDRATION:
- excessive thirst
- fatigue
- headache
- dry mouth
- little or no urination
- muscle weakness
- dizziness
- light headiness


The water and how much you need.
REPLACEMENT APPROACH -- average urine output is 1.5 liters a day and another liter of water through breathing, sweating and bowl movements. Need to have 20% consumption through food and another 8 cups throughout the day.

Men should be consuming 3 liters (about 13 cups)
Women should consume 2.2 liters (about 9 cups)

As long as you quench your thirst and produce a colourless or slightly yellow normal amount of urine.

- Illnesses or health conditions - diabetes
- Pregnant or breast feeding
