What is good... SHAKESPEARE

"The British Shakespeare Company is the best known and most successful open-air Shakespeare company in Great Britain. As a performer of Shakespeare's works, we are second in size and reputation only to the RSC. We have performed in London's West End, at major repertory theatres and even at Royal Palaces. We have also performed private shows for British and international businesses, and in aid of several major charities.

Our cast of 16 of the finest professional Shakespearian actors includes Mark Arden, Steven Blakeley, Daniela Lavender, Louisa Lytton, Gabriel Thomson and Robert J Williamson will star in our2009 tour of A Midsummer Night's Dream and Much Ado About Nothing. Show photographs and reviews are being added to the site to give you a flavour of the shows.

Venues include the Rose Theatre Kingston Upon Thames, Trinity College Dublin in Ireland, Ramme Gaard in Norway, Gawsworth Hall in Cheshire, Norwich Cathedral in Norfolk, Kentwell Hall in Suffolk, Kirkstall Abbey in Leeds, Sheffield Botanical Gardens,Prague Castle in the Czech Republic, Sterts Theatre in Cornwall andArundel Castle in West Sussex. We are still very keen to hear from other venues to fill up our final available dates. The shows are also available for corporate clients throughout the year.

2009 will also see the release of Sweet Swan of Avon a feature film featuring numerous Shakespeare scenes directed and performed by the British Shakespeare Company. This has been an exciting, educational and rewarding experience for the BSC, and we are looking forward to more film work in the future.

Robert J Williamson
